    3. Attestation on honour of No Medical Contraindication to Sports Practice

Regular exercise is good for your health. It is a natural way of preventing and/or slowing down the progression of common illnesses (cardiovascular disease, cancer, anxiety, depression, diabetes, etc.).

Nevertheless, sport must be practised under the right conditions and in complete safety. In some cases, a medical examination prior to practising sport is advisable.

Each athlete practices sport under his/her own responsibility. He attests on his honor to the absence of contraindication to the practice of the sport in accordance with Article 12 of the Statutes of the Belgian French-speaking Athletics League and Article 6.1.7. of the Internal Regulations of the Belgian French-speaking Athletics League. This attestation is drawn up in order to comply with the obligations arising from the decree of April 3, 2014 on the prevention of health risks in sport and its implementing decrees.

He acknowledges having read the opinion of the LBFA medical commission, which recommends a preventive sports medicine examination in the following cases (non-exhaustive list):

    • This examination is strongly recommended for athletes: who are just starting out in their sporting career; who compete intensively; who have chronic illnesses such as diabetes, asthma, rheumatism, etc.; who have a family history of heart problems; who have heart rhythm problems (too slow, too fast); who have pain or compression in the chest; who have problems with loss of consciousness or dizziness; males over 40; females over 50.
    • This examination is also strongly recommended for athletes with two or more cardiovascular risk factors: high blood pressure; high cholesterol; high blood glucose; smoking.

    Doping:
The legal representative(s) of a minor athlete agree(s) that the minor may be assisted by a member of the circle’s support staff during a doping control, in their absence at the control site.
